In shelter in Nederland Input 06-04-2026: Unfortunately, we have to look for a new home for dear Charly again. After just two weeks of adoption, it's too much for his adopter to continue caring for Charly, who can sometimes be restless and show overstimulated behavior due to the many moves and difficult circumstances he has experienced. Therefore, we are urgently looking for a new home or temporary foster family for Charly!! Charly is a sweet, somewhat uncertain teenager. He is playful, enthusiastic, eager to learn, extremely affectionate, but because he has experienced so much in a short time, he can become overstimulated quickly. He enjoys playing with other dogs, gets along well with cats, is housebroken, walks nicely on a leash, likes car rides, and loves attention from his people. Basically, he just wants to be cozy everywhere with his people. Like many young dogs, Charly still has a lot to learn. For example, staying alone at home is still a bit difficult for him. Also, from his youthful enthusiasm, he can sometimes cross the boundaries of another dog. Charly also has difficulty taking his own rest. He stays awake and alert, even though he is actually very tired. With some guidance, he can relax, and once he falls asleep, he really sleeps deeply. We are looking for an adoptive or foster family for Charly who is willing to guide him with patience, understanding, and calmness during this teenage phase. A home with another dog is certainly an option, provided that the other dog is stable and the situation is well guided. Are you the person who wants and can help Charly? Charly is a beautiful young male dog, almost one year old. He is a real teddy bear, extremely kind, playful, affectionate, but also a bit stubborn and sensitive. Basically exactly what you would expect from a young Podenco teenager. In December, Charly came to the Netherlands. He is currently living with another dog. He can be very enthusiastic about her and sometimes crosses her boundaries. Staying alone at home is still difficult for Charly, so this needs to be built up slowly and carefully. Charly gets along well with cats, is housebroken, likes car rides, and enjoys playing with other dogs. For Charly, we are looking for a place where there is calm, patience, understanding, and attention for him. A home with people who have experience and know what they're getting into, and who can provide the guidance he needs. We think a home without other dogs would be best for him. Charly is truly a very loving, attached dog who likes to be close to his people. He just needs a bit more guidance than he is currently receiving. In the right hands, he can grow into a fantastic dog. As a pup, Charly was found on the streets in Spain with a large wound on his neck. This was treated there and has fortunately healed well. His neck can still be a bit sensitive, so we recommend using a harness instead of a collar when handling him.

In opvang in Nederland Input 06-04-2026: Tot ons grote verdriet moet er voor lieve Charly weer een nieuw thuis gezocht worden. Na slechts 2 weken adoptie valt het zijn adoptant te zwaar om nog langer voor Charly, die door de vele verhuizingen en voor hem lastige omstandigheden, soms nog onrustig kan zijn en nog wat overprikkeld gedrag laat zien, te blijven zorgen. Daarom zoeken wij voor Charly met spoed een nieuw thuis of tijdelijk opvanggezin!! Knappe Charly is een lieve, nog wat onzekere puber. Hij is speels, enthousiast, leergierig, ontzettend aanhankelijk maar raakt omdat hij veel in een korte tijd heeft meegemaakt ook snel overprikkeld. Hij speelt graag met andere honden, kan goed met katten, is zindelijk, loopt al netjes aan de lijn, vindt autorijden leuk en is dol op aandacht van zijn mensen. Eigenlijk wil hij het liefst gewoon overal gezellig bij zijn. Zoals veel jonge honden moet Charly nog wel het één en ander leren. Alleen thuis blijven vindt hij bijvoorbeeld nog een beetje lastig. En hij kan uit zijn jeugdige enthousiasme soms de grens van een andere hond wat overgaan. Ook vindt Charly het nog lastig om zelf zijn rust te nemen. Hij blijft wakker en alert, terwijl hij eigenlijk heel moe is. Met wat begeleiding lukt het hem gelukkig wel om te ontspannen, en als hij eenmaal slaapt, dan slaapt hij ook echt diep. Wij zoeken voor Charly een adoptant of opvanggezin die hem met rust, begrip en geduld wil begeleiden in deze puberfase. Een (t)huis met andere hond is zeker een optie, als dit een stabiele hond is en het goed begeleid wordt. Ben jij de persoon die Charly wil en kan helpen? Of wil je meer informatie over Charly? Hij is een echte knuffelbeer, ontzettend lief, speels, aanhankelijk, maar ook een beetje eigenwijs en gevoelig. Eigenlijk precies wat je van een jonge podenco puber mag verwachten. In december is Charly naar Nederland gekomen. Hij woont momenteel samen met een andere hond. Hij kan erg enthousiast zijn naar haar en daarmee gaat hij soms haar grens over. Alleen thuis blijven vindt hij ook nog moeilijk, dit zal dus rustig en stap voor stap opgebouwd moeten worden. Charly kan goed met katten, is zindelijk, vindt autorijden leuk en speelt graag met andere honden. Voor Charly zoeken we een plek waar rust, geduld, begrip en aandacht voor hem zijn. Een huis bij mensen met ervaring die weten waar ze aan beginnen en hem de begeleiding kunnen geven die hij nodig heeft. We denken dat een huis zonder andere honden het beste voor hem is. Charly is echt een ontzettend lieve, aanhankelijke hond die graag dicht bij zijn mensen is. Hij heeft alleen net wat meer begeleiding nodig dan hem op dit moment geboden kan worden. In de juiste handen kan hij uitgroeien tot een fantastische hond. Als pup werd Charly in Spanje op straat gevonden met een grote wond in zijn nek. Deze is daar behandeld en gelukkig goed genezen. Zijn nek blijft soms nog wat gevoelig, daarom raden wij aan om bij hem een veiligheidstuigje te gebruiken in plaats van een halsband.
