Children?Fives and older should be fine. How about dogs?NoIn care103 days Chi was found as a stray in Adlington, Cheshire along with some kittens which had sadly died. A kind member of the public brought her to us so we could hopefully find her original home (at which we failed) or find her a new home. A lovely natured cat and full of energy, Chi is friendly and easy going. Loves to play, chase and always on the go. She’ll need a home where she has plenty of company with time to burn off her energy and keep her busy. Striking looks and a striking personality.Chi has used her tray reliably, is not fussy about food and has been healthy throughout our stay with us. She was briefly adopted by a lovely family in Macclesfield but she proved impossible to integrate with their existing cat so we are seeking a home with no existing cats or dogs to be on the safe side. As with all our cats, Chi has been vaccinated, wormed, flead, microchipped, and neutered before homing. To help offset these costs we respectfully ask for a minimum donation of £100 towards the cost of veterinary treatment. All Silk Cats come with four weeks of complimentary PetPlan insurance – we recommend you consider arranging your own insurance at the end of the four weeks – there is a guide here: About Insurance READY for homing – if you’d like to adopt, please read the information here: ‘Our Homing Process’ and then complete a matchmaker/registration form email: : silkcatrescue.org.uk/adopttelephone:

About Chi

What life with Chi looks like

Chi is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Silk Cat Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Silk Cat Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Silk Cat Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Silk Cat Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
