Chilifox

Podenco · Female · Young · 1 year

Triple A Benelux Input 5 June 2026: Chilifox or her shortened name, Chichi, is absolutely a very special Podenco girl. The name Chilifox isn't just a coincidence. With her beautiful feline appearance combined with the character of a mild Spanish pepper, Chichi is the unique dog she is. Her silky fur feels incredibly soft, so petting her might just become your new hobby. In the presence of unfamiliar people, she is initially a bit shy, but once she notices that other dogs are comfortable with you, she suddenly becomes cuddly, playful, and starts sharing kisses. Chichi still seems like a puppy, but the vet confirmed that she must have been around 8-10 months old when she arrived at our animal shelter. She didn't have a microchip when she was found on the street with her companion, Petra (an Espagneul Breton). Chichi is hopelessly in love with Petra, stays by her side, and never stops cuddling her. Of course, it would be wonderful if these two could be adopted together, but it's not necessarily required. Chichi loves all the dogs she meets and will be happy in her new home with any playful, social dog by her side. A companion for the desired direction and trust. Chichi cannot be adopted as the only dog in the household! We are also looking for a place for her in a quiet environment, close to nature with a secure, fenced-in garden where she can run freely without constantly being on a leash. With a shoulder height of 39 cm, Chichi is a small dametje. Do you perhaps have a spot for her where she can become friends with your other dog(s)? She loves it and will undoubtedly jump at the chance when the time comes!

About Chilifox

What life with Chilifox looks like

Chilifox is a small young adult podenco dog waiting at description in AL Ridderkerk.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chilifox, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chilifox?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. description handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chilifox on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chilifox if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — description will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chilifox already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chilifox isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with description early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chilifox and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
