Some abandonment stories touch us deeply, and that is certainly the case with Chilli. The gentle female boxer is now part of the Boxernothilfe family—not because she was no longer wanted and had to leave quickly. On the contrary, her people were deeply sad to let her go, in order to give her the chance to have a future that meets her needs. Currently, our sensitive Chilli still cannot fully understand the changes in her life. As can be seen in the photos, she was very excited during the photoshoot. Nevertheless, she seeks contact with us at every opportunity and snuggles close. One can feel at first glance how important proximity and security are to this human-oriented female boxer. Chilli is not just a female boxer who wants to be there; she wants to belong and is delighted by any attention from her people. Among her favorite activities is dawdling in her garden or relaxing in the sun. Walks have unfortunately been too short at the moment, but the loving female boxer still enjoys leisurely rounds through nature. In the evenings, she snuggles up with her people on the couch. Besides her people, Chilli had two cats as very special heart friends. With them, she not only lived peacefully but also played and cuddled. Chilli could therefore very much like to move into a home with nice fur babies. With other animals, Chilli is rather uninterested and does not want to share her home with them. Chilli does not know life with children. Even though Chilli would love to be with you, she can be alone for a reasonable amount of time after getting used to her new home. Chilli handles car rides very calmly. Currently, the pug is a bit overweight. With weight management and exercise, she will surely regain her comfortable figure soon. For our female bullmastiff, we wish to find experienced Molosser owners who appreciate her sensitive, people-oriented nature and take our beauty into their home with love and understanding. About Chilli

What life with Chilli looks like

Chilli is a young adult dog waiting at Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland in Hiddenhausen.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chilli, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chilli?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chilli on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chilli if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chilli already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chilli isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chilli and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
