Chubby met us at our Spanish partner animal shelter in La Línea, where he has been waiting for his chance for several months. By the end of June, he will finally be able to leave the shelter enclosure and move to a foster home in Berlin. The Bodeguero-mixed breed was estimated to have been born in September 2024 and stands approximately 55 cm at the shoulder. The daily routine at the animal shelter currently overloads Chubby, causing him to be shy and reserved. He approaches helpers and volunteers on site with great caution and tends to retreat. Physical contact was long unfamiliar to him. However, he now allows cuddles with increasing gentleness. Sometimes, he still needs a loving encouragement, but Chubby increasingly shows that he can accept touch and is building trust. Chubby is friendly and social with other dogs, who provide him with orientation and security and help him navigate new situations. Once Chubby arrives at his foster home, we will provide more detailed information about him. Chubby is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, tested for Mediterranean diseases, and will be rehomed with an EU pet passport. Chubby haben wir in unserem spanischen Partnertierheim in La Línea kennengelernt, wo er bereits seit einigen Monaten auf seine Chance wartet. Ende Juni darf er den Tierheimzwinger endlich hinter sich lassen und zieht auf eine Pflegestelle nach Berlin. Der Bodeguero-Mischling wurde geschätzt im September 2024 geboren und hat eine Schulterhöhe um die 55 cm. Der Alltag im Tierheim überfordert Chubby derzeit noch, weshalb er sich eher schüchtern und zurückhaltend zeigt. Auch den Kontakt zu den Helferinnen und Helfern vor Ort nimmt er nur sehr vorsichtig an und zieht sich lieber zurück. Körperkontakt war für ihn lange ungewohnt. Inzwischen lässt er sich jedoch behutsam auf Streicheleinheiten ein. Manchmal braucht es noch eine liebevolle Ermutigung, doch Chubby zeigt immer deutlicher, dass er Berührungen annehmen kann und zunehmend Vertrauen fasst. Mit anderen Hunden ist Chubby freundlich und sozial. Sie geben ihm Orientierung und Sicherheit und helfen ihm dabei, sich in neuen Situationen zurechtzufinden.
