adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Chuck Norris can stay forever in his foster family! His story: The wonderful Chuck Norris with the colorful fur pattern is something very special! And exactly such a special person is what the little male dog is looking for to be happy. Chuck Norris was found near Zalau at a bus stop, where he suddenly appeared. Someone there noticed that the dog was bleeding. It turned out that the handsome, brown-white male dog with the distinctive floppy ears had fallen into a wire trap, which unfortunately is still set out in Romania. The wire had already cut into his skin, but somehow Chuck Norris managed to free himself. Fortunately, the poor fellow was secured, although still with the wire around his neck. As the wound fortunately wasn't too deep, Chuck Norris was saved by an operation and the wire was completely removed. The cut has fully healed and he has no limitations due to it. The medium-sized male dog, approximately 48-50 cm high and about 18 kg heavy, is a very even-tempered dog and goes very well on the leash. He is curious, open-minded, and interested. He loves being outside and exploring everything on his walks, and snuffling around everywhere. Throughout, he always shows himself to be calm and rather reserved. Chuck Norris also enjoys being stroked, but at the moment, he can't be described as an affectionate cuddler. He doesn't constantly seek the affection of people, but clearly and consciously enjoys it when someone pays attention to him and cuddles him or trains him with treats. In Romania, he shared a run with Ricarda for many months. Now, they are allowed to explore the shelter. For Chuck Norris, we are looking for loving people who are willing to learn the dog ABC with him. Chuck Norris would love to experience adventures and finally get to know the world out there. The sweet puppy will very much enjoy beautiful and interesting walks, the frolicking with dog friends should not be too short, and a visit to the dog training class will surely make him happy. Chuck Norris could be a Jack Russell Terrier mix, at least his little floppy ears look like it. Chuck Norris is ready for a life with lots of fun and exciting adventures and is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. After a positive Naturally, he also brings his EU pet passport. Many thanks to Silvie S.! You gave Chuck Norris his strong name! Date: 08.09.

Vielen Dank Silvie S.! Du hast Chuck Norris seinen starken Namen geschenkt! Stand: 08.09.2024

About Chuck

What life with Chuck looks like

Chuck is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chuck, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chuck?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chuck on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chuck if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chuck already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chuck isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chuck and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
