Adopt CHUDY

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 11 years

Hello, my name is CHUDY, I am 11 years old. I came to the shelter right after the summer. One day I was taken to the veterinary clinic - I thought I would be neutered and go to a new home like my friends, but it was different... At first, Doctor Lady weighed me, listened to my heart and examined me carefully, then she did an ultrasound, tested my blood and gave me an IV drip. My test results were quite good - except for my weight. I weighed 15.5kg then. I didn't want to eat when I was alone, so my caregivers spent a lot of time with me. I couldn't eat enough to gain weight for a long time, but eventually I started gaining weight. Today I weigh 21kg, I have regained some will to live and have built up some muscle. I would like to make space in the animal shelter for other dogs in need, and I would like to find a home myself. Doctor Lady and the animal behaviorist say I had depression and adjustment problems. I was already underweight before, but being in a shelter full of other dogs didn't help me get back together. Fortunately, I don't have depression anymore, but I still miss humans very much. I'm not demanding. I don't need long walks. I need someone to be with me and occasionally take me to the doctor, so I never have to feel like I did when I got my name. Unlike my friends, I am not yet neutered, because Doctor Lady says I need to be fully recovered. If you want to meet me, call or write to Tarnow Animal Shelter to arrange a walk together. In the shelter since: September 2024 Relationship with people: social Temperament: social, loves to be petted Relationship with dogs: gets along well with calm dogs Relationship with cats: unknown Relationship with children:

Dziś ważę 21kg, nabrałem chęci do życia i trochę odbudowałem mięśnie.

About CHUDY

What life with CHUDY looks like

CHUDY is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Azyl dla Zwierząt w Tarnowie in Tarnów.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting CHUDY, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about CHUDY?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Azyl dla Zwierząt w Tarnowie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw CHUDY on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt CHUDY if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Azyl dla Zwierząt w Tarnowie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is CHUDY already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if CHUDY isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Azyl dla Zwierząt w Tarnowie early rather than rehoming privately; they know CHUDY and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
