adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! When you hear the name Clifford, you might think of the series "____ – the Great Red Dog," where a little girl rescues a tiny red puppy that grows overnight into a giant. Don't worry: such things are not expected with our Clifford. He will currently be a medium-sized, cheerful young dog—just like his namesake, he also needs a big heart to guide him into a loving life. Clifford is now about 11 months old and in the middle of his young dog phase. He is currently waiting in a Romanian foster home for his chance to finally get his own family. The conditions there are quite cramped, so he would greatly appreciate more space, movement, and closeness to his people. Walking on a harness and leash is already going well for his age. The basics of dog 1×1 training will be learned with patience, structure, and positive reinforcement. At the same time, Clifford is in the midst of his puberty—a phase where hormones thoroughly mix up his head and body. Previously learned things may suddenly seem forgotten, commands are questioned, and young dogs often show their own minds. This phase will pass, and with loving consistency, Clifford will develop into an excellent companion. His foster home describes him as friendly, loving, playful, and curious. Everything is new and exciting for Clifford, and he needs to explore it thoroughly. An ideal home for him would be in a more rural area with a house and garden, where he can have enough space to run, explore, and be fully engaged. At the same time, Clifford loves closeness and affection—he thoroughly enjoys lots of cuddles. Clifford gets along well with other dogs with his fellow animals. He also has a positive EU pet passport. Even a foster home would naturally be delighted with the little heartbreaker with white paw tips. Do you want to give Clifford the long-awaited ticket to happiness and protect and accompany him for life? His little suitcase is already packed. We thank Christine very warmly! You have given Clifford a very beautiful and fitting name, thus giving him an identity connected with the hope of freedom and security. This dog will be rehomed together with the organization Arme Hundeseelen Rumänien. The double posting on both organization sides and possibly in advertising portals serves to increase his visibility and find his perfect home more quickly. With the organization, there is a close exchange. Every inquiry for the dog is directly discussed and passed on. As of: 01.04. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Clifford

What life with Clifford looks like

Clifford is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Clifford, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Clifford?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Clifford on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Clifford if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Clifford already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Clifford isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Clifford and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
