Clio

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel · Female · Adult · 6 years

Clio is searching for adopters who can offer her a calm and loving home where she can settle back into a routine and enjoy plenty of companionship. She could live with children who are comfortable around dogs and may be able to share her home with another friendly dog following successful introductions at the centre. Clio is housetrained and has previously settled well when left for short periods, although her new family should allow her time to adjust after such a big life change. She would enjoy a home that can provide gentle exercise, cosy places to relax, and lots of opportunities to spend quality time together. In return, Clio promises to be a loyal, affectionate companion who will bring plenty of warmth and happiness to her new family. Clio is a sweet and affectionate 6-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel looking for a loving home to call her own. Having spent her life as a much-loved companion, Clio enjoys being around people and is happiest when she’s included in family life. She has a friendly nature and has previously lived with children, enjoying their company and taking family life in her stride. Clio loves gentle fuss and attention, enjoys her walks, and is just as happy curling up in a cosy bed for a snooze afterwards. She travels well in the car, walks nicely on lead, and enjoys being groomed, making her a lovely companion to have by your side. Clio has been through a lot of change recently, so she may need a little time to settle into her new surroundings, but with patience and reassurance her lovely personality soon shines through.

About Clio

What life with Clio looks like

Clio is a large adult cavalier king charles spaniel dog waiting at Dogs Trust Bridgend in Mid Glamorgan.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Clio, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Clio?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Bridgend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Clio on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Clio if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Bridgend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Clio already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Clio isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Bridgend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Clio and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
