How do I contact the shelter about Cloe?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cloe on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Cloe if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Cloe already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Cloe isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cloe and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Cloe

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

♀, born ca. 9/2025 lovable - active - social in Spain Cloe is a Podenco Andaluz female born around 9/2025 with a shoulder height of approximately 50 cm. Cloe was discovered in the middle of a road in September 2026. She was completely defenseless and was in great danger of being hit by cars. It was possible to secure the frightened female dog and bring her to a safe facility. Since then, Cloe has been eagerly waiting in the refuge for a loving, adequate home and a cozy warm dog bed. The lovable, active, initially rather shy female dog is now looking for her final happiness, committed people who have a lot of time for her, challenge and promote her, teach her the dog multiplication table with calmness and patience, ideally combined with regular visits to the dog school and actively integrate her into her daily routine, where Cloe finally experiences security, love and care. Cloe is highly compatible with conspecifics of both sexes. A socially compatible, confident conspecific, ideally of similar age and size, to which she can orientate herself, would be supportive and advantageous for her. A loving home is being sought for Cloe with active people who have a lot of time for her, as well as a desire and joy in joint activities with her and discover the world together, because she has probably not yet known much and is also no couch potato. A quiet rural home and environment would be desirable and ideal for her. Cats and/or small animals should not be present in her future home. Cloe is neutered, vaccinated, chipped and tested for Mediterranean diseases. She is located in a refuge in Andalusia/Spain. The deposit for Cloe is 580 euros. Do you want to give Cloe a home? About Cloe

What life with Cloe looks like

Cloe is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. in Berlin.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.
