Coco is a gentle dog who wants to trust. She comes from a killing station in Romania. We explain how dogs get there and more in our animal welfare FAQ. Coco is shy in the shelter and prefers to observe from a safe distance, often retreating to her hut. She is not yet comfortable with wearing a muzzle, but tolerates it without snapping. She is quiet and reserved, as if she is not sure she can just be herself. This dog is new to the shelter. Our caregivers take the time to get to know and assess each dog. Please inform yourself about the requirements for adopting a Herding Dog Mix. Herding Dog Mixes are often very independent and need confident leadership. Coco suffers from arthritis/hip dysplasia. This is why a home without many stairs is needed to spare the dog pain. (The dog will need medication for the rest of its life.) Coco has a scar on her muzzle. This is not uncommon in Romania. Many people there still believe that burning the muzzle protects dogs from diseases. However, the scar does not affect Coco in any way. Coco has a short tail. It is unclear whether her tail was docked or if it is congenital. Coco is currently underweight. Dogs on the street or in killing stations are often fed too little or nothing at all, so they become very thin. However, in the shelter, Coco is fed more and will hopefully soon be at a normal weight. Coco is slightly overweight. People often mean well with dogs and feed them beyond their healthy ideal weight. However, in the shelter, Coco can still lose some weight so that she can go to her new home slim and fit. Due to her health condition and age, we are looking for a sanctuary for this dog. In a sanctuary, higher veterinary costs are covered in consultation with the association and the adoption fee is waived. We are looking for people who are aware that rescue dogs bring a certain history. We can never predict in the shelter how a dog will react to life in Germany. That's why we're looking for people who bring patience, perseverance, and goodwill. Sanfte Hündin Coco sucht Menschen, denen sie vertrauen kann! Diese Fellnase kommt aus einer Tötungsstation in Rumänien. Als wir sie fanden, hatte Coco sich ängstlich in eine Hütte zurückgezogen. Coco ist noch neu im Tierheim und muss sich erst an ihre neue Umgebung und die vielen ungewohnten Eindrücke gewöhnen. Bisher zeigt sich die hübsche Hündin eher schüchtern und zurückhaltend. Am liebsten beobachtet sie das Geschehen aus sicherer Entfernung und zieht sich zwischendurch gerne in ihre Hütte zurück, wo sie sich geschützt fühlt. Auch das Anlegen des Geschirrs ist Coco momentan noch nicht geheuer. Dennoch lässt sie es ruhig über sich ergehen und zeigt dabei keinerlei Schnappverhalten. Sie begegnet den Menschen vorsichtig und scheint einfach noch nicht zu wissen, ob sie ihnen wirklich vertrauen kann. Unsere Pfleger:innen nehmen sich Zeit, um jeden Hund kennenzulernen und einzuschätzen. Wenn wir mehr über den Charakter dieser Fellnase wissen, ergänzen wir dieses Profil. Natürlich kannst du trotzdem schon eine Selbstauskunft für diesen Hund ausfüllen. Coco braucht ein ruhiges, ländlich gelegenes Zuhause, idealerweise bei Menschen, die bereits Erfahrung mit Angsthunden haben. Ihre neuen Besitzer sollten viel Geduld und Durchhaltewillen mitbringen. Souveräne Menschen mit Fingerspitzengefühl sind für diese sensible Seele gefragt. Jemand, der die kleinen Schritte sieht und wertschätzt, wird an ihr sicherlich Freude haben. Wir wünschen uns für diese Fellnase Menschen, denen bewusst ist, dass Tierschutzhunde eine gewisse Geschichte mitbringen. Wir können im Tierheim nie vorhersagen, wie ein Hund auf das Leben in Deutschland reagieren wird. Deswegen suchen wir Menschen, die Geduld, Durchhaltevermögen und Wohlwollen mitbringen. Aber eines ist sicher: Wer adoptiert statt kauft , schenkt nicht nur einem Tier eine zweite Chance, sondern entscheidet sich aktiv gegen Tierleid – und für ein Leben mit einem ganz besonderen Gefährten an der Seite. Alle Hunde werden vor der Ausreise geimpft, gechipt, entwurmt, entfloht und kastriert (Ausnahme sind Welpen bis 6 Monate und sehr alte Hunde).
