Coco und Kiwi

German Shorthaired Pointer · Male

Coco und Kiwi are two magical sun conures who only wish to move into their new home together. The two are a well-oiled team, spending a lot of time with each other, communicating diligently, and showing a very beautiful, close social behavior, just as one would wish for these special birds. Sun conures are small but very self-assured and intelligent birds that must be kept in company, otherwise, they will quickly become lonely. More information about the husbandry of sun conures towards humans is that Coco und Kiwi are currently still a bit unsure and prefer to keep their distance. They observe curiously from a distance but make daily small progress and develop continuously. With patience and calmness, they can learn to trust. Typical for their kind, they are very curious, active, and always have something to say. Their communication with each other is lively and simply brings joy when observed. For Coco und Kiwi, we are looking for an appropriate home with sufficient space, ideally in a large aviary and with daily free flight. Because even small parrots need a lot of movement and mental stimulation to be happy and healthy. We are seeking people with a heart and understanding for birds who enjoy observing these two little personalities and offering them a safe, loving home❤️ If you would like to meet Coco und Kiwi, please fill out our inquiry form.

About Coco und Kiwi

What life with Coco und Kiwi looks like

Coco und Kiwi is a large adult german shorthaired pointer bird waiting at Tierhelfer Ingelheim e. V. in Germany.

Birds are long-lived, social, and noisy. The species and individual history matter enormously — ex-companion parrots can carry strong attachments and trauma. Ask the shelter about their daily routine, diet, and whether they'd do best alone or with a flockmate.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Coco und Kiwi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Coco und Kiwi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhelfer Ingelheim e. V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Coco und Kiwi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Coco und Kiwi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhelfer Ingelheim e. V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Coco und Kiwi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most birds on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Coco und Kiwi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhelfer Ingelheim e. V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Coco und Kiwi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
