Coco (vermittelt)

Male · Puppy · 5 months

In the ages given here, it often involves estimated values as we do not always know the exact age. Other information like size is subjective. Coco Born November 2017 Gender male dog Breed mix Size remains small Foster home Coco found his dog bed. We are happy with Coco and his new pack and wish them a wonderful, happy, exciting, and especially worry-free time together. Now Pino found his people and is enjoying life to the fullest. Pino also served as a foster brother for Lilly from Santorin and now has a human sibling 😉 Coco lives at his foster home with a male dog and a ferret. As he is a somewhat insecure dog, he needs some time at first with the right handling, but he warms up quickly. He is friendly to strangers and other dogs. He also gets along well with children, loves wild games, and both paper boxes to "tear apart" and ball playing are great. Of course, he also needs his quiet time in between. He is a cuddly one and enjoys cuddles. Coco is house-trained, when people orient themselves to "his" times. So far, car rides work best on the back seat with both doggy and human company. He can stay with the existing dog, but he does not want to be left alone yet, as he howls and whines. Who gives the little guy the security he needs to become a great family dog? This little family was rescued by animal shelters on Crete. Fortunately, help was found quickly, and they could move into a foster home… it’s now winter on Crete, it rains a lot, and temperatures are going down to zero—-the little ones wouldn’t have survived long. There are 5 puppies (3 boys and 2 girls), about 1.5 months old and remaining small… All have been seen by a vet and received their first vaccination. The mom, Zoeye, tested negative for leishmaniasis. As the puppies are already eating on their own, Zoeye will be spayed as soon as possible and then ready to travel. The puppies are expected to be ready to travel by the end of March. Maybe someone has already fallen in love spontaneously ;)???? Then get to the keyboard as fast as possible!!! About Coco (vermittelt)

What life with Coco (vermittelt) looks like

Coco (vermittelt) is a small puppy/kitten dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. in Zornheim.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Coco (vermittelt), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Coco (vermittelt)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Coco (vermittelt) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Coco (vermittelt) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Coco (vermittelt) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Coco (vermittelt) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Second Chance Dogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Coco (vermittelt) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
