Here’s a first rough assessment: - Tends to get easily agitated and excited. - Has a strong prey drive toward everything—bicycles, dogs on the horizon, crows. Coffy has potential in all directions. He can be trained and guided, but his behavior is extremely insecure. Ultimately, he embodies many of the traits that define a Malinois—and is just beginning to develop them. In experienced hands, he could become a wonderful lifelong companion. In inexperienced hands, however, we’ll definitely see him again, and he’ll end up controlling everything according to his own needs. Unfortunately, at the shelter, we neither have the time nor the resources to provide him with the comprehensive care he needs to fully realize his potential. That’s why it would be best if he could find a home quickly. Of course, there’s no denying that he’s absolutely beautiful. However, we ask that applicants be honest and genuinely interested in adopting him—people who have at least some prior contact with and experience working with this breed, and who are also enthusiastic about engaging in sports-oriented activities with him.

Hier mal eine erste Grobeinschätzung: - neigt dazu schnell hochzufahren - Jagdtrieb auf alles (Fahrräder, Hunde am Horizont, Krähen) Coffy hat Potential in alle Richtungen. Er kann geführt werden, aber er ist sehr sehr unsicher in seinem Verhalten. Im Endeffekt ist er vieles was einen Malinois ausmacht und der anfängt, sich zu entwickeln. In erfahrenen Händen kann er ein toller Begleiter fürs Leben werden. In unerfahrenen Händen sehen wir ihn definitiv wieder und er kontrolliert alles in seinem Sinne. Leider haben wir im Tierheim weder die Zeit noch die Möglichkeiten, uns so umfassend um ihn zu kümmern, dass er sein volles Potential entfalten kann. Deswegen wäre es gut, wenn er zügig vermittelt wird. Dass er wunderschön ist, ist natürlich unbestritten. Wir bitten aber um ehrliche Bewerbungen von Menschen, die zumindest schon mal Kontakt und Erfahrungen mit dieser Rasse gesammelt haben. Und die auch interessiert sind ihn sportlich zu führen.
