Adopt Conchita

adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Conchita found a happy home! Her story: Bistrita, Romania. The little Conchita! An absolute stunner for all fans of short-legged dogs! With her flowing fur and white blaze, she is definitely a standout. But her personality also invites you to give her the best home on earth! Conchita currently lives in the public shelter in Bistrita and suffers greatly there. She is just one of many, and no one has the time to give her the attention she deserves. Conchita is only 1.5 years old and has her whole life ahead of her. She has a small size of about 38cm and short little legs. Her appearance reminds one of a Basset-mixed breed. With people, Conchita is simply sweet as can be, enjoys attention very much, and can never get enough of cuddles. With her fellow animals, she gets along just fine. Conchita was found on the street and brought to the public shelter from there. It is assumed that she has not known an appropriate life and still has a lot to learn. However, since she is open and friendly, it is assumed that she will quickly adapt to her new life and wants to learn the Dog ABC with her people. In a positively working dog training class, she will surely find a dog hobby that brings her joy. Regular activities with her people, mental stimulation, regular contact with her fellow animals, and lots of cuddles from her people will make Conchita a happy dog. She is very active and looks forward to beautiful excursions in nature and many adventures with her people, despite her small size. We wish for sweet people who are ready to take her by the paw and show her the beautiful, big world. Conchita has missed a lot and wants to make up for it with her people. Our Conchita is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. She brings her EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive foster home experience. Conchita would also be very grateful for a foster home. Who will give Conchita the life she so deserves? Many thanks Sandra B.! You gave Conchita her name and thus an identity!

About Conchita

What life with Conchita looks like

Conchita is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Conchita, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Conchita?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Conchita on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Conchita if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Conchita already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Conchita isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Conchita and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
