Adopt Corail, chien réhabilité par le GRAAL

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 2 years

Corail, former laboratory dog was adopted in December 2009 at our shelter, partner of GRAAL. We are happy to share with you the testimony of his adopter, who with gentleness and kindness, allowed Corail, who was 2 years old at the time, to adapt to his new life and become more confident. "On December 10, 2009, I went to the our shelter to adopt a Beagle named Corail, who was two years and three months old, reformed from a laboratory. Corail was not used for harmful experiments to his health, but he did not live like other pets. He did not know outdoor walks, games or life in a home. His behavioral problems were numerous: terrified in a car to the point of excessive drooling, mistrustful of humans, trembling most of the time, frightened by noises and sudden movements, stressed by close contact, timid and not very approachable, ... Seven companions mostly from shelters who had already shared my life, I knew that I would have to be patient and gentle for my little Beagle to become confident and mentally sound. 1. To awaken him, I talked to him a lot and taught him to play, which allowed him to stop running around the apartment and stop marking his territory! 2. To help him learn to eat his meals calmly, I stayed beside him while petting and talking softly to reassure him. 3. I regularly held him in my arms to cuddle and kiss him to the point that he quickly became a demander! Very quickly, Corail gained confidence in himself and in human beings, although he remained cautious towards men. His trembling stopped. His eyes became lively. He no longer hid to sleep and his sleep became peaceful and deep. As for his regular vomiting, it took until February 2010 to diagnose that his body was infested with roundworms, my poor little dear. It was necessary to give him treatments for five months to get rid of these annoying pests! Corail is very attached to me and grateful. He is a small dog in perfect health, social, very curious, very observant, playful, always cheerful, greedy and with his little Beagle character! He is no longer stressed about going in the car, he is even happy! He is a wonderful companion!" > A big thank you to Corail's adopter for sharing her testimony and experience as well as to the many people who choose to adopt a rehabilitated animal! > Are you interested in adopting a laboratory animal, consult our adopters guides.
