adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Curuba travels directly to her final destination! Her story: Curuba, a young mama with a heart in the right place, is searching for her warm forever home. Curuba is just over 2 years old and has already given birth to 2 kittens. Shortly after birth, she was found in the mountains, away from the city, by animal-loving people who asked our team for help with the little family. Of course, Curuba then moved into our foster home with her children. At first, the pretty mommy didn't know what was going to happen to her. Her skepticism about the loving life in warmth, with food, and nice people was great. But she quickly accepted her luck and adapted well to the household. Now, she shows herself to be quite an open-minded cat, more laid-back than active. Curuba enjoys sleeping on the sofa or in bed and being petted. She would fit well into a household where a relaxed companion is desired. Of course, Curuba gets along excellently with her fellow animals and quickly adapts to them and the pack. She has always taken great care of her children. We would wish for a home with another fluffy paw for her. She would happily take one of her cat friends with her on her journey to you if you still have no kitten waiting for her. As an outdoor cat, we do not rehome Curuba. Our lucky kitten Curuba is always ready to pack her small suitcase and begin her final life with you! Curuba travels neutered, microchipped, treated for fleas and worms. She is tested negative for FIV and FELV and has an EU pet passport. Thank you Silvie S., you gave Curuba her special name! As of: 23.05.

Danke Silvie S., Du hast Curuba ihren besonderen Namen geschenkt! About Curuba

What life with Curuba looks like

Curuba is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Curuba, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Curuba?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Curuba on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Curuba if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Curuba already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Curuba isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Curuba and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
