Czółko

Male · Adult · 5 years

Czółko was probably a kangaroo in a previous life. Bounding is one of His favorite activities. Besides that, running, sniffing, snuggling, craziness with other dogs and best of all everything together and at the same time. It's an atomic power plant hidden in a small, slim body. Weighs just under 11 kg and resembles a gazelle in build. 😊 A characteristic feature are disproportionately large ears, which when upright cause the skin between them to wrinkle like when thinking intensely. Hence the name Czółko. Czółko is a very positive dog towards people and other dogs. If someone can provide Him some madness during walks, combined with breaks for cuddling, He will be His best friend. We are looking for a home for Him that will provide physical activity and lying on the couch after an intense walk. We know that He can defend resources in a house, so we recommend Him for someone with experience in this matter, or someone willing to learn, focused on work. A home without small children who might accidentally forget themselves, leaving their toys, thus causing later difficulties for Czółko. 😊 The adoption process includes at least 2 adoption walks, we recommend a home visit to check how He finds his way around the house.

PL·Show original

Czółko najpewniej w poprzednim wcieleniu był kangurem. Podskoki to jedna z Jego ulubionych czynności. Oprócz tego, bieganie, węszenie, przytulanie, szaleństwa z innymi psami i najlepiej wszystko razem i w tym samym czasie. To elektrownia atomowa schowana w mały, szczupłym ciałku. Waży niecałe 11 kg i przypomina budową sarenkę. About Czółko

What life with Czółko looks like

Czółko is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Resource guarding behavior - needs experienced owner or someone willing to work on this issue

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Czółko, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Czółko?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Czółko on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Czółko if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Czółko already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Czółko isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Czółko and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
