Adopt Dado

Belgian Malinois · Male · Young · 2 years

11.05.2026 Today, the wonderful Dado got to film for the animal show. Dado is a very affectionate and attentive male dog. He has already been worked with, and a good foundation has been laid for further development because Dado learns very quickly and enjoys being kept busy. Fellow animals meet Dado with friendliness. Also, walks with other dogs are problem-free. With nervous dogs, Dado can react, and he doesn't like being reprimanded. However, he can be picked up in these situations. Like most Malinois, Dado loves carrying the sausage toy. We are still working on the "out" command, and it helps if you can trade with a second sausage toy. For the energetic and eager-to-learn male dog, we wish to find active and dog-experienced people. Experience with a Malinois or another working breed is certainly an advantage. Cats or other small animals should not live in the same home. His new people can look forward to an exciting time together. Just like a Malinois, Dado needs adequate mental stimulation, so there must be enough time and space for the new family member. Dado is microchipped, fully vaccinated (rabies and combination vaccine), and neutered. Would you like to meet our wonderful Dado? We look forward to your message. 27.04.2026 Welcome to Switzerland, you wonderful prince. Dado is a beautiful, large, and proud Malinois male dog. The wonderful male dog makes a sovereign impression and meets people with friendliness. It is possible to go for walks with other dogs at the same time. However, a closer introduction is still too early. In Spain, he was very nervous in the kennel; he should now settle in and calm down. 29.12.2025 Dado is a typical Malinois male dog: active, intelligent, and hardworking. Despite his typical breed energy, he is loving towards people and gets along well with other dogs. He loves every form of mental stimulation and work. Dado wants to be mentally and physically challenged and is enthusiastic about the task. For him, we are looking for sporty, active people who enjoy working consistently with him and can provide the necessary structure and challenge. We will report back.

About Dado

What life with Dado looks like

Dado is a large young adult belgian malinois dog waiting at Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten in Arme Pfoten.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dado, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dado?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dado on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dado if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dado already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dado isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dado and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
