Dalia

Female · Senior · 9 years

Dalia is looking for a peaceful, loving home! Dalia is a female dog aged approximately 9–10 years old, weighing around 18 kg. She’s a sweet senior dog who dreams of having her own little corner and a human companion with whom she can feel safe and secure. At first meetings, she may be a bit shy, but she quickly opens up to new people and reveals her friendly nature. She enjoys human company and loves spending time by her caregiver’s side. The dog suffers from hypothyroidism, which means she’ll need to take medication for the rest of her life. Dalia walks nicely on a leash and doesn’t require intense physical activity—calm, leisurely walks and quality time together are perfectly sufficient for her. She gets along well with other dogs, so she could live happily with a gentle male dog. This description is based on observations made while the dog was at the shelter. Dalia is currently under the care of OTOZ Animals Shelter in Tczew. Shelter registration number: 93/26. The dog is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and spayed. Dalia szuka spokojnego i kochającego domu! Dalia to około 9-10-letnia suczka, ważąca około 18 kg. About Dalia

What life with Dalia looks like

Dalia is a medium-sized senior dog waiting at OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dalia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dalia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dalia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dalia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dalia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dalia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with OTOZ Animals — Schronisko w Tczewie early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dalia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
