Danny roamed alone on the streets for almost two weeks before rescuer Timea finally found him. She had already seen a Facebook post about him and secretly hoped his owner would pick him up or that someone else would help him, because her shelter was completely full. Yet it turned out differently. One evening, Timea was driving in the dark towards a gas station when she saw a dog walking on three legs. Naturally, she immediately stopped to take a look, and it turned out to be Danny. His leg was inflamed and he clearly was in pain. Without hesitation, she took him home. From the very first moment, Danny showed what a calm and loving dog he is. As if he knew his life was finally taking a better turn, he slept peacefully through the first night without moving from his spot. Timea describes him as an extremely nice and stable dog. After a visit to the veterinarian, his leg was treated and fortunately, everything has now healed well. Danny currently lives safely at Timea's shelter, where he shares his stay with other dogs. That goes very well and he gets along well with his companions. Update April 2026: In April 2026, our volunteers went to Romania, where they personally met Danny. Danny was extremely happy to get to leave the kennel for a while and immediately showed his zoomies of excitement. When rescuer Timea calmly took him in, spoke softly to him, and petted him, he visibly relaxed. You could clearly see how nicely he reacts to human contact. Afterwards, he walked curiously and sniffing along the leash. Moreover, it turned out that Danny loves cookies and managed to touch everyone with his beautiful, gentle gaze. He easily made contact and liked being petted. Danny deserves more than a life in a shelter. Danny zwierf ruim twee weken alleen over straat voordat rescuer Timea hem uiteindelijk tegenkwam. Ze had al eerder een Facebookbericht over hem gezien en hoopte stiekem dat zijn eigenaar hem zou ophalen of dat iemand anders hem zou helpen, omdat haar shelter eigenlijk helemaal vol zat. Toch liep het anders. Op een avond reed Timea in het donker richting een benzinepomp toen ze een hond zag die op drie poten liep. Natuurlijk stopte ze meteen om te kijken en het bleek Danny te zijn. Zijn poot was ontstoken en hij had duidelijk pijn. Zonder twijfel nam ze hem mee naar huis. Vanaf het eerste moment liet Danny zien wat een rustige en lieve hond hij is. Alsof hij wist dat zijn leven eindelijk een betere wending kreeg, sliep hij die eerste nacht rustig door zonder van zijn plek af te komen. Timea omschrijft hem dan ook als een ontzettend fijne en stabiele hond. Na een bezoek aan de dierenarts werd zijn poot behandeld en inmiddels is alles gelukkig goed genezen. Danny woont nu veilig in de shelter van Timea, waar hij zijn verblijf deelt met andere honden. Dat gaat uitstekend en hij kan het goed vinden met zijn soortgenoten. Update april 2026: In april 2026 gingen onze vrijwilligers naar Roemenië, waar zij Danny persoonlijk hebben leren kennen. Danny was ontzettend blij dat hij even de kennel uit mocht en kreeg direct de zoomies van enthousiasme. Toen rescuer Timea hem rustig bij zich nam, zachtjes tegen hem praatte en hem aaide, ontspande hij zichtbaar. Je kon goed zien hoe fijn hij reageert op menselijk contact. Vervolgens liep hij nieuwsgierig en snuffelend mee aan de lijn. Daarnaast bleek Danny dol te zijn op koekjes en wist hij iedereen te raken met zijn prachtige, zachte blik. Hij maakte makkelijk contact en liet zich graag aaien. Danny verdient meer dan een leven in een shelter.
