Darcy & Milo

Shih Tzu Β· Female Β· Young Β· 3 years

Darcy and Milo both love a cuddle on the sofa and going out on little adventures to meet new people and see new places. They aso enjoy playing with their toys and can be left home alone after they settle in and as long as they are together. This lovable duo can be a little bit chatty when thy first meet new dogs but settle once they have met and get on great with them. They are very foody dogs and would love to put this to use and doing some basic training with their new humans. Milo and Darcy may need to be reminded of their housetraining in a new home so a paitnt understanding new home would be needed for them to help them start again, they have also previously lived with cats so this too may be an option. This duo are very bonded and would be required to stay toether in their new home so we are hoping there is a special family out there looking for a special lovable duo to join them! Darcy and Milo are a wonderful, lively pair of Shih Tzu's who are looking for a home together. They love meeting new people, getting out and about exploring and then chilling out on the sofa. They are looking for a new home where they can be a part of the family and won't be left home alone for extended periods of time. Any children in their new home would be of an older primary school age and respectful of their space and they could live with another dog pending a successful meet at the centre. and they can settle together when left alone for short periods. Darcy enjoys meeting new people so could cope with a reasonably busy home. she has previously lived with other pets (cat, rabbit) so could potentially live with other animals with careful introductions. she loves her food and is very clever at finding it so will need its to be kept securely away. she is generally clean in the house but sometimes has accidents when left so may need reminding when settled into a new home routine. Darcy will need regular grooming and has coped well with what we have achieved so far in centre.

About Darcy & Milo

What life with Darcy & Milo looks like

Darcy & Milo is a young adult shih tzu dog waiting at Dogs Trust Bridgend in Mid Glamorgan.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Darcy & Milo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Darcy & Milo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Bridgend handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Darcy & Milo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Darcy & Milo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dogs Trust Bridgend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Darcy & Milo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Darcy & Milo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Bridgend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Darcy & Milo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
