Adopt Daria

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 4 years

Gender: Female Age: Born ca. 2022 If you approach her calmly and confidently, she will allow herself to be touched and will also snuggle up to her terms. We received Daria from a friend animal welfare association. The 2022-born, neutered female dog originally came from Romania and is still a bit unsure. On the one hand, she behaves confidently, enduringly, and sometimes even assertively in many situations, but on the other hand, she is, especially when it comes to human proximity, extremely anxious. If you approach her calmly and confidently, she will allow herself to be touched and will also snuggle up to her terms. But if you want something from her that she does not also want, she can already use her teeth. For this reason, Daria is not rehomed to children. Daria is accustomed to the muzzle and wears it without problems. With limitations, Daria currently cannot generally handle herself well. She quickly becomes frustrated and compensates for this with jumping or rolling behaviors. Daria is curious and open to environmental stimuli. On the go, she shows a pronounced prey-catching behavior. With her nose to the ground, she is persistent in her scent search and occasionally switches to turbo drive. Cats and small animals should not live in Daria's new home. So determined she may appear outside, encounters with people still make her a bit anxious at the moment. Here, trusted people are needed who can confidently and clearly lead her and deal with her situational insecurities. Daria gets along well with dogs. She can be rehomed to a dog-experienced only dog. For Daria, we are looking for dog-experienced people who bring the necessary calm and composure to clearly lead her and give her a lot of security so that she can one day go through thick and thin with her familiar people. Interested parties can contact: this breed Shelter our area Email: Homepage: www.this breed-shelter-our area.de More dogs are looking for a home... Milly has been waiting for her people for so long. Maya wants her own home finally. Mia San wants a quiet dog bed for herself. Oscar is not only friendly and open to other dogs but also to people.

About Daria

What life with Daria looks like

Daria is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein Hunde in Not Rhein-Main e.V. in Bad Vilbel.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Daria, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Daria?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Hunde in Not Rhein-Main e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Daria on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Daria if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Hunde in Not Rhein-Main e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Daria already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Daria isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Hunde in Not Rhein-Main e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Daria and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
