Adopt Dave

Mixed Breed Cat · Male

Well hello everyone, My name is Dave! My personality: I am still very new here at Rain, but I am showing that I am a lovely boy. I do like some attention but I also can be an independent boy. I’m sure as the days go on and the humans get to know me better they will let everyone know just how amazing I am. My ideal home : I would love a home where people are around to give me some love but also can leave me to do my own cat thing. I have lived with another cat before so I could potentially do it again, with slow introductions of course! I also wouldn’t mind sharing my new home with children, as long as they know when to give me my space. Access to outdoors : I would love access to the outdoors once I have settled in. Toileting: I am litter-trained, I will use either grit or woodchip. Did you know : A study discovered that our little house cats share 95.6% of their genetic makeup with tigers. My adoption fee is £125

About Dave

What life with Dave looks like

Dave is a adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Rain Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dave, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dave?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rain Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dave on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dave if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rain Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dave already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dave isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rain Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dave and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (the shelter's own language). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
