Diana &#8211

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Diana now lives in 63486 Bruchköbel. All the best, Diana. Heartfelt thanks, Mr. C. Typically, surplus hunting dogs mainly arrive in the form of Galgos and Podencos in all colors, age groups, and conditions at our Spanish partners. That racehounds like Diana end up here is extremely rare, as these dogs can also be sold well for further use if they are suitably trained. Of course, we do not know the reason why Diana’s owner instead handed the female dog over to the animal shelter, we can only assume that this hunting suitability was the key point… Diana is, in fact, an extremely quiet lady, and it is suspected that she simply was not suited for hunting. This should not be a free pass for potential owners to believe she has no interest in wild game—after all, a Weimaraner is and remains a hunting dog—yet the charming girl is much more interested in people and their hands than in balls or other movable toys. The approximately three-and-a-half-year-old lady (as of June 2024) has only recently been in the Arca Sevilla, but she already shows that she had to largely do without cuddles in her previous life and is determined to make up for this deficit. Clingy, she follows the caretakers, always hoping for a kind word, a pat, or even a thorough petting, which is always too little in the stressful daily life of the animal shelter. With other dogs, Diana has no problems; she is happy to be convinced to join one or another play session, but she also likes to lie lazily in the sun and observe her colleagues. Such a beauty will surely not wait long for the first inquiries. We ask you, however, to inform yourself about the Weimaraner breed beforehand and to carefully consider whether you can meet its needs and whether the dog also meets your expectations. Diana only needs one more move and should land with the absolutely perfect people who will welcome her fully and completely in their home and heart!

Diana lebt jetzt in 63486 Bruchköbel. Alles Gute, Diana.

About Diana &#8211

What life with Diana &#8211 looks like

Diana &#8211 is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Diana &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Diana &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Diana &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Diana &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Diana &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Diana &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Diana &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
