Diana

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 7 years

We are looking for a home for an exceptional female dog named Diana. Diana is about 7 years old, full of energy and ready to discover the world. When we took her, she was weak, underweight, attached to an empty, completely unfilled kennel. "Owner" fed her once every two days... Her skin was covered with terrible changes, and the itching was so unbearable that she scratched herself until bleeding. Scabies - it's hell for a dog... Thanks to careful care, Diana is slowly regaining her health. She has gained weight, her skin is healthy. Diana is a friendly, curious female dog. Diana spent most of her life on a chain, therefore she needs a patient guide who will help her learn to live in a house and provide appropriate support and love at every step. If you are a patient, loving person ready to give a second chance to a dog who knows what suffering is, but also knows how to enjoy small joys of life, then Diana is for you! Open your heart and give her a chance for a new, happy life. Vaccinated, has a chip, after spaying surgery. Diana is staying in a foster home, which wrote about her: "In the house: Enters new places confidently and without problems, she is curious, brave, she is not stressed by household noises (vacuum cleaner, hairdryer). When caregiver is away, she is calm, usually lies down, doesn't destroy anything, doesn't go to the bathroom in the house. Loves to eat, eats meals very quickly so she gets them in a slow feeder bowl, drinks water from the bowl quite rarely - prefers to lick drops under the shower and loves water from puddles. She is careful around people, follows them, likes to be petted and is willing to participate in training - generally, she is capable of doing a lot for food. On walks: Walks nicely on a leash, does not pull, sniffs a lot, explores. She is learning to communicate with other dogs." The foster home is temporary.

Dzięki starannej opiece Diana powoli wraca do zdrowia. Diana to przyjazna, ciekawska suczka.

About Diana

What life with Diana looks like

Diana is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja EkoStraż in Wrocław.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Diana, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Diana?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja EkoStraż handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Diana on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Diana if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja EkoStraż will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Diana already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Diana isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja EkoStraż early rather than rehoming privately; they know Diana and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
