Dingo

Mixed Breed · Male

Can Dingo be your dog? I have no idea, but read the description - maybe that's how it is. Let's take a look at this young man. We don't know his past, he was found, brought to an animal shelter. No history. A clean slate. He is about 1-1.5 years old, a sturdy boy, I don't know if he inherited it from his mother or father, but our teenager has grown up. Fortunately, it doesn't translate into strength and although he doesn't fully grasp his size, he often trips over his feet or enthusiastically jumps, but he doesn't pull and behaves very well on a leash. He is extremely curious about the world, loves walks - he behaves beautifully in the car, happily climbs in and is polite during the trip. In new places, he is interested in the surroundings, a bit cautious, a bit hidden, but he still ventures into the unknown, especially if he has a confident person by his side. I don't know if it's genes or upbringing in his previous life, but he knows how to fit into an environment. Sometimes he gets scared by fast-moving cars, loud noises - it seems, however, that it can be worked through quite easily because he makes quick progress. This is a very affectionate Dingo. He pushes his nose into your hand, likes human closeness, in general, as soon as I stop for a walk, he's right next to me. He also eagerly responds to other people's approaches, has no problem with strangers. He's becoming a buddy that everyone wants to have as a friend. Unless you're a dog - then it will be a bit harder - here are the social gaps and the topic for work. He doesn't know how to handle dog relationships, is afraid, approaches, barks uncensored. For now, we are trying to help, but of course, in shelter conditions it's not easy. Definitely with the help of a specialist, progress will be faster at home. Let's remember that he is still a puppy - eager to learn, needing a wise guide. If you are looking for a family, cheerful, young dog that you can still shape to your liking, without major problems, friendly to people, eager for adventure, then Dingo gives a great chance for meeting. His eyes still sparkle, the light hasn't gone out in the shelter box yet - hurry up. Dingo is waiting at the animal shelter in Choszczno, is about 1.5 years old, neutered, big and loved. I'll gladly help with the introduction, please definitely get in touch - volunteer Karolina phone/Whatsapp 501051386 More information: call volunteer Karolina and find out more. polski English Deutsch Czy Dingo mógłby być waszym psem? Jeżeli szukacie rodzinnego, wesołego, młodego psa, którego jeszcze można “ulepić” pod siebie, bez większych problemów, przyjaznego do ludzi, skorego do przygody to Dingo daje dużą okejkę do planów zapoznania z nim. About Dingo

What life with Dingo looks like

Dingo is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Choszczno in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dingo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dingo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Choszczno handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dingo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dingo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Choszczno will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dingo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dingo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Choszczno early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dingo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
