adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Dino has found its own home! His story: 52355 Düren. Dino is waiting in his foster home for you! Originally from Bistrita, Romania, Dino has adapted very well to the foster home in recent weeks. The handsome young dog, about 10 months old, is more reserved, gentle, and friendly, showing polite and somewhat shy behavior towards strangers and other dogs. Dino is not an extrovert – he requires your patience and a little time to get to know new things. With his Chihuahua puppy companion, who also belongs to his foster family, he is already heart and soul. Dino encourages him to play and run around. Dino has not yet had any experiences with small children or cats. The gentle young dog loves his walks and already behaves very well on the leash. If something new is not entirely to his liking, he seeks the proximity of his companion and primary caregiver. Dino still sleeps a lot and enjoys being crawled over by his foster parents. He lets his soul dangle and trusts the two-legged beings who care for him affectionately. If you would like to meet Dino, he is waiting in Duisburg for your visit. Dino is currently about 66 cm tall and may still grow a few more centimeters. If you take the first steps together and Dino is slowly growing up, puberty may shake up your cohabitation. But you can make it. Because if you don't lose your patience, stay on the ball with thoughtfulness and loving consequences, even small boisterous dog teenagers can learn that you want to help them become a confident and self-assured adult dog. Find out what options are available for the training and education of dogs (and dog owners) in your area. We recommend dog schools and trainers who approach dog training with positive reinforcement. This will help you build a deep bond with Dino that will last a lifetime. Dino knows nothing of a new life – but we would like to tell him that he can look forward to many things. Do you want to lay your world at his feet so he can complete your family team? Dino is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas. We thank Family B. for giving Dino a name and thus a valuable identity.

About Dino

What life with Dino looks like

Dino is a extra-large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dino, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dino?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dino on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dino if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dino already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dino isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dino and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
