Diuna

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 6 months

This is a mature, strong female dog of the hound type, who clearly knows what she wants and usually wants to move forward. Born in 2020, she weighs about 25 kg and combines the energy of a walk with a great need for human contact. She is open, social and very people-oriented. She likes to be close, readily accepts affection and feels comfortable in one-on-one relationships. After a good amount of exercise she clearly calms down, and then the most important thing becomes shared time, calmness and closeness. She knows the basics of walking on a leash, but currently pulls strongly. This is not a dog "for a light walk," she needs a strong, aware caregiver who will consistently work with her on calm movement on a leash. She knows the command "sit," which shows that she can learn and cooperate if given clear signals. She is neutral towards other dogs at the moment. She does not look for conflicts or tensions, but as always we recommend introducing her to a resident dog before adoption if there is another dog in the home. She is rather an average active dog. She needs a proper walk and a moment of activity, but does not require constant running. After activity she gladly rests and seeks human contact, which is the perfect combination for her. She will best find herself with an experienced, physically fit caregiver who: is not afraid of working on the leash, can be consistent but calm, is looking for a dog who will be his friend. This is not a dog "for everyone," and that's okay. Diuna is for someone who wants to combine movement, learning and closeness in one relationship, and can become a really good companion. Breed: mixed breed in the hound type. Weight: 25kg. Leash: yes. Relationship with dogs: neutral. She has been spayed, dewormed, treated for fleas, vaccinated, chipped, registered in the Safe Animal database. The dog is staying at: animal shelter Funny Pets in Czartki, Czartki 49b, 98-200 Sieradz, powiat sieradzki, woj.

To dorosła, silna sunia w typie wyżła, która dobrze wie, czego chce i zwykle chce iść do przodu. Urodzona w 2020 roku, waży około 25 kg i łączy w sobie spacerową energię z dużą potrzebą kontaktu z człowiekiem. Należy raczej do psów średnio aktywnych. Rasa : mieszaniec w typ. About Diuna

What life with Diuna looks like

Diuna is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Diuna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Diuna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Diuna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Diuna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Diuna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Diuna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Diuna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
