adoption requirements adoption process Ask about this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Ask about this cat now! Mother and son duo are looking for their shared happiness! The gentle Djamila and her curious son Morris have already experienced a lot together. Originally they came from a family that had hardly any means to properly care for them. When the situation became critical for the two of them, our animal welfare workers were able to rescue them in time. Now mother and son are looking for a loving home together, as they are very attached to each other! Djamila is a cautious, quiet soul. She needs some time to build trust, but when she realizes she is safe, she shows her tender side. Then she especially enjoys cuddles, gentle words and small treats! She is a quiet, friendly companion who thrives with patience and understanding. Morris is still young and curious. At first he can also be a bit cautious, but his playfulness and interest in his surroundings make him thaw quickly. He loves playing with other cats and exploring the world. He often relies on his mom: the two form a well-coordinated team! Both get along generally well with dogs, but remain a bit distant. A patient and loving household, preferably with other social cats, would be ideal! However, the two can do without outdoor access. They would certainly be happy with a cat-safe netted balcony, but this is not a requirement. Djamila and Morris are spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas and tested negative for FeLV. They also have an EU pet passport and are now ready for their new home. After a positive many thanks to Birgit D. and Monika V.

About Djamila & Morris

What life with Djamila & Morris looks like

Djamila & Morris is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Djamila & Morris, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Djamila & Morris?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Djamila & Morris on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Djamila & Morris if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Djamila & Morris already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Djamila & Morris isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Djamila & Morris and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
