Dolby

Maltese · Female · Adult · 8 years

17-07-26 Dolby is a lovely lady who has come into our care from a breeder. She is a very sweet girl who is feeling quite nervous at the moment and is understandably finding all the recent changes a little overwhelming. Although she is very shut down, she is easy to handle. Right now, Dolby lacks confidence, but she has a gentle nature and enjoys the company of her kennel friends, who help her feel safe. Dolby will be looking for a calm and quiet home, where she can settle in at her own pace. She will need another kind and confident resident dog in the home, and this dog will be a much-needed support system as she settles into her new life and begins to build her confidence. As Dolby has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training, lead walking, and the other basics of home life. Her new family will need to be patient and allow her to adjust at her own pace. We would consider homing her with older, dog savvy teenagers. Dolby is a gentle little soul who has a lot to take in right now. With a calm home, a confident canine friend, and plenty of patience, we hope she will continue to grow in confidence as she discovers that the world can be a much kinder place. Dolby has had 1 tooth extracted at the time of her spay. She has a travel document. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Dolby

What life with Dolby looks like

Dolby is a adult maltese dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dolby, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dolby?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dolby on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dolby if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dolby already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dolby isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dolby and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
