DOMINGO

Male · Puppy · 7 months

Domingo comes from Romania and spent three weeks with a family who adopted him. Unfortunately, they were unable to keep Domingo. So he is staying with us now. He was extremely anxious for the first two days, wouldn't walk at all, was scared of everything and everyone. Now he knows us and Domingo is coming out of his shell. He goes for walks, is playful and very funny. He is making great progress. Of course, he needs to get used to new people. So potential adopters will have to give him time so he can open up. It's a young dog and can certainly use proper training. Giving the necessary attention, dealing with Domingo with a loving and non-punitive hand and having a securely fenced garden where this young dog can let off steam are essential. We prefer not to have adopters with very small children because of Domingo's anxious nature You also notice that he doesn't know much, so going on an adventure together and taking steps at Domingo's pace and then this dog will open up into a wonderful dog! About DOMINGO

What life with DOMINGO looks like

DOMINGO is a small puppy/kitten dog waiting at Dierenwereldkruis VZW in Bornem.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting DOMINGO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about DOMINGO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenwereldkruis VZW handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw DOMINGO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt DOMINGO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenwereldkruis VZW will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is DOMINGO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if DOMINGO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenwereldkruis VZW early rather than rehoming privately; they know DOMINGO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
