Donna

Beagle · Female · Puppy · 10 months

Donna is a gorgeous girl full of energy, who would love an active family to take her for fun adventures out and about! She will need some support being left on her own at first, as we have no history in this department. She would like her family to be around most of the time while she settles in. Donna is a super sweet girl, with bags of energy and love to give. We can't wait to see her thriving. Meet lovely girl, Donna, a 10-month old Beagle looking for her forever home! Donna is a super sweet girl, who loves people! She's happy to say hi and jump up for a fuss with anyone she meets. Donna would prefer to live in a home where all children are of secondary school aged as she can be boisterous at times. Donna is able to live with other dogs in the home as she is a very friendly girl with great communication skills. She is still a young girl and does exhibit puppy-like behaviours, so will need some support with basic skills such as keeping her paws on the ground and house-training. She does walk well on lead, but in typical Beagle style, can pull when she smells something delightful. She loves her food and loves to play with balls (her favourite being a football!) so any training should be a doddle. She's definitely one for the Beagle fans and we can't wait to see her in her forever home.

About Donna

What life with Donna looks like

Donna is a puppy/kitten beagle dog waiting at Dogs Trust Cardiff in Cardiff.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Donna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Donna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Cardiff handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Donna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Donna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Cardiff will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Donna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Donna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Cardiff early rather than rehoming privately; they know Donna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
