Adopt Dotty+Jolie

Labrador Retriever · Female · Senior · 12 years

Temperamental oldtimer duo: Name: Dotty und Jolie Breed: Labrador Retriever Gender: both female, both neutered ID: 268701 or 268700 Date of birth: June 2014 or June 2016 Get along with dogs: yes, but stressed Get along with children in the same household: possible with older children Home sought: with a garden, in the countryside, or on the quiet outskirts Hypothetical: the loving, 2014 or 2016 born Labrador Retriever duo Dotty and Jolie are people-friendly. The two can also be rehomed with larger children – larger, as the two dog brothers are still very temperamental. Other dogs stress the two – especially Jolie reacts very stressed in dog encounters and channels this onto Dotty. The two girls walk politely on the leash when something is interesting, but also with a bit of tug. They are house-trained and receive hypoallergenic food from us. Currently, their ears are still in treatment (Dotty has ear drops and Jolie still has an infection). As they spend most of their time outdoors and do not know life in an apartment, we are looking for a home with a garden for the loving, temperamental duo on the very quiet outskirts or in the countryside.

„Temperamentvolles Oldtimer-Duo Name: Dotty und Jolie Rasse: Labrador Retriever Geschlecht: beide weiblich, beide kastriert Tiernr.: 268701 bzw. 268700 Geburtsdatum: Juni 2014 bzw. Andere Hunde stressen die beiden – v.a.

About Dotty+Jolie

What life with Dotty+Jolie looks like

Dotty+Jolie is a medium-sized senior labrador retriever dog waiting at Tierschutz Austria in Vienna.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dotty+Jolie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dotty+Jolie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutz Austria handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dotty+Jolie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dotty+Jolie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutz Austria will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dotty+Jolie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dotty+Jolie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutz Austria early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dotty+Jolie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
