DRACO

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Puppy · 4 months

Draco is a Podenco who arrived at our partner shelter ABYDA Jaén in Spain after his owners decided to part ways with him...for no particular reason, just wanting a puppy at home! Since then, he has been waiting for the opportunity to grow up in a home where he can discover all the beautiful things life has to offer. He is a puppy full of energy, like any Podenco, and has a huge zest for life. He loves to run, play, explore and, like any good puppy, make a few mischiefs from time to time. All this is part of his learning and this beautiful period he is currently going through. He is a real whirlwind of joy. Very affectionate, funny and friendly, he is still learning the rules and good behavior, which is why he can sometimes be a bit disobedient, but he is at the ideal age to learn and become an exceptional companion. A shelter is not the ideal place for a puppy to grow up. Draco needs to get out, discover the world, discover new places and live experiences that will help him grow physically and emotionally. Draco needs an active, patient and committed family who will enjoy teaching him a lot of things and accompanying him at all stages of his growth. In return, Draco will offer them a life full of joy, affection and unforgettable moments. Ready to offer a beautiful life to our little whirlwind?

FR·Show original

About DRACO

What life with DRACO looks like

DRACO is a medium-sized puppy mixed breed dog waiting at MACFI - Maison d in Switzerland.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting DRACO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about DRACO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. MACFI - Maison d handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw DRACO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt DRACO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — MACFI - Maison d will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is DRACO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if DRACO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with MACFI - Maison d early rather than rehoming privately; they know DRACO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
