Drako

Mixed Breed · Male

Drako is a small, young, handsome curly puppy found in the municipality of Jaktorów. It arrived at the animal shelter in the first few days of April 2025. Drako is a very sensitive dog with a delicate psyche. There are many fears and anxieties in its head. Drako guards resources such as food or toys, which may indicate that it experienced their lack in the past. Fear of loss is extremely unpleasant and destructive. Drako's relationships with people are very cautious. It is quite mistrustful towards us. But with small steps, we are trying to introduce it into our lives, showing that it will never lack food again and socializing with other dogs. As for them, Drako feels quite well in their company. Drako walks well on a leash. Walking is very important for it. It smells a lot and obviously relaxes during walks. Drako pays attention to the caregiver only when something delicious appears in its hands. Passing dogs are an opportunity for Drako to stop and make a new friend. Regardless of gender, Drako is very friendly in direct contacts. We strongly believe that besides providing Drako with basic needs and building a sense of security, we will be able to change a lot. We hope that soon Drako will allow us to do more and will be able to go to a home for a new life.

Drako to nieduży, młody, śliczny kudłaty piesek znaleziony w gminie Jaktorów. Do schroniska trafił w pierwszych dniach kwietnia 2025 r.

About Drako

What life with Drako looks like

Drako is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Drako, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Drako?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Drako on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Drako if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Drako already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Drako isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Milanówku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Drako and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
