Dunja en Davy

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten · 4 months

Davy and Dunja are a brother and sister from a litter of 5 kittens. They were found in the woods with their mother. They were caught and then quickly placed in a foster home together. They made many steps there but still found people stupid. Unfortunately, they learned this from their mother. Therefore, it was decided to separate the litter, in the hope that they would grow more in terms of behavior. Davy and Dunja have now been in another foster home for 4 weeks. They are doing very well and they are very attached to each other. They really are a nice brother and sister who meow at each other when they lose sight of each other or are lost. They often lie together on the chair or hammock. Davy and Dunja are very used to domestic life and also to the other cats and dog in the house. They still find people a bit scary and do not come to lie on the couch with you. It is not certain whether this will ever happen, but when they get a lot of treats, a lot of space and time to get used to, they will be a very nice addition to the family or other pets in the house. That is why it is very important that they are placed together because that is where they will be happiest!

NL·Show original

About Dunja en Davy

What life with Dunja en Davy looks like

Dunja en Davy is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Kat in Nood in Netherlands.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dunja en Davy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dunja en Davy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Kat in Nood handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dunja en Davy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dunja en Davy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Kat in Nood will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dunja en Davy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dunja en Davy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Kat in Nood early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dunja en Davy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
