Ecsed

Dachshund · Male · Adult · 7 years

This young, approximately 2018 October-born mixed breed dog was found on October 20, 2019, at the M3 Autopálya parking lot in Ecséd. Unfortunately, as was often the case, a microchip was not found in him. We are not looking for his original "owner," as someone who would abandon a dog to face every danger alone cannot be considered a responsible owner. Here at Ecsed, he received his name. Friendly though still unable to speak, this young little mixed breed puppy. We in Ecsed are searching for a place where he will never have to experience anything but good, where he can settle in joyfully to enjoy the remaining years of his dog life as a true family member. We hope he will also find an Angyala who proves that life is beautiful and that one can trust people, a responsible owner, a family, and a home—where the world is the best thing! No tethering! Ecsed is microchipped, vaccinated, and neutered and is adoptable. For more photos, see HERE!

About Ecsed

What life with Ecsed looks like

Ecsed is a small adult dachshund dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Needs patient, loving home due to abandonment trauma

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ecsed, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ecsed?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ecsed on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ecsed if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ecsed already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ecsed isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ecsed and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
