Edgar is a male dog of about five years old and a strong herding dog mix with thick, white fur and a distinctive dark facial marking. We do not know what he has experienced so far, but he is currently waiting at the public shelter in Baia Mare for his happy ending. With his impressive appearance, he looks remarkable, but behind his outward appearance is a friendly, rather uncertain dog who likes to be touched and cautiously makes contact with people. As Edgar probably had little experience living closely with humans so far, he is somewhat unsure in new situations. He does not yet know life in a house, so he must be gradually introduced to these things. For him, many things are new: harness and leash, everyday noises, routines in the house, closeness to people, and living together in a family. All of this must be learned by Edgar. Currently, we do not know his compatibility with other dogs, so a controlled introduction to other animals would be important. Overall, he appears friendly but rather reserved. He is about 70 cm tall. For Edgar, we are looking for loving, patient, and responsible people who understand the needs of a herding dog. Adopters of Edgars should have already familiarized themselves with the breed-specific characteristics and preferably live in a rural area. Edgar would ideally have a garden or yard where he can move freely. Herding dogs often have a loyal, friendly, but also very independent character. Edgar is looking for people who give him time to build trust and accompany him safely through his new world. Attending a dog training class or working with a specialized trainer is recommended to provide him with orientation and support his development positively. Edgar ist ein etwa fünf Jahre alter Rüde und ein stattlicher Herdenschutzhundmix mit dichtem, weißem Fell und einer markanten dunklen Gesichtszeichnung. Was er bisher erlebt hat wissen wir nicht, aktuell wartet er im öffentlichen Shelter von Baia Mare auf sein Happy End. Mit seinem imposanten Aussehen wirkt er beeindruckend, doch hinter seinem äußeren Erscheinungsbild steckt ein freundlicher, eher noch unsicherer Hund, der sich gern anfassen lässt und vorsichtig Kontakt zu Menschen aufnimmt. Da Edgar wahrscheinlich bisher kaum Erfahrung im engen Zusammenleben mit Menschen sammeln konnte, zeigt er sich in neuen Situationen noch etwas unsicher. Das Leben im Haus kennt er noch nicht, weshalb er Schritt für Schritt an diese Dinge herangeführt werden muss. Für ihn ist vieles neu: Geschirr und Leine, Alltagsgeräusche, Routinen im Haus, Nähe zu Menschen und das gemeinsame Leben in einer Familie. Das alles muss Edgar noch lernen. Mit Hündinnen ist Edgar verträglich, das Verhalten bei Rüden ist noch unbekannt. Grundsätzlich zeigt er sich freundlich, aber eher zurückhaltend. Er ist ca. 70 cm groß. Für Edgar suchen wir liebevolle, geduldige und verantwortungsbewusste Menschen, die Verständnis für die Bedürfnisse eines Herdenschutzhundes mitbringen. Edgars Adoptant:innen sollten sich bereits mit den rassetypischen Eigenschaften auseinandergesetzt haben eher ländlich wohnen. Gerne hätte Edgar einen Garten oder einen Hof, in dem er sich frei bewegen kann. Herdenschutzhunde haben oft einen treuen, freundlichen, aber auch sehr eigenständigen Charakter.
