Edward

Greyhound Β· Male Β· Adult Β· 6 years

Edward is such a wonderful boy, with so much love to give. He's ready for a home all of his own where he learn what a life with a loving family is all about! He may need some support as he settles into a home environment which may include ongoing training like housetraining. As we don't know what he'll be like to be left, we recommend this is gradually built up as he settles in. But what we do know, is that he loves nothing more than an afternoon snooze on a big cosy duvet after his walkies. Gentle boy Edwards is 6 years old and ready for his forever home. This lovely boy has been super friendly here and the centre and loves everyone he meets, making sure to always lean in for fuss and attention. We think he could live with any age children following a meeting here at the centre. Edward has been social when out and about on his walkies and could happily share his home with another dog. This lovely boy enjoys his walkies, but loves nothing more that being with people or on a big comfy bed. As an ex-racer, Edward does wear his muzzle out and about on his walkies.

About Edward

What life with Edward looks like

Edward is a large adult greyhound dog waiting at Dogs Trust Kenilworth in Kenilworth.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible β€” a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Edward, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Edward?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Kenilworth handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Edward on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Edward if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Dogs Trust Kenilworth will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Edward already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Edward isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Kenilworth early rather than rehoming privately; they know Edward and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
