Ein Handicap mit Herz &#8211

Golden Retriever · Male · Young · 2 years

Born: ca. 2024, male, microchipped, vaccinated, neutered Size: ca. 50 cm Weight: 20 kg Breed: mixed breed (Golden Retriever) fellow animals: yes, see text; Cats: yes, Children: yes Fibs is a heartwarming and cheerful young dog. His playful nature makes everyone's hearts sing. He plays a lot, happily, and enthusiastically with the female dog living in the foster home. The foster mom reports that he, however, reacts problematically to some male dogs. Unfortunately, we know nothing about his past. Fibs loves all people, and he is very safe around children. However, due to his disability, he will not be rehomed to a family with small children. Fibs is blind from birth (congenital gray blindness), but you wouldn't notice it in his everyday life. He has no limitations, and you don't notice his disability when he climbs stairs. The vet confirms that he has no pain. Fibs is very well leash-trained, obedient, and trainable. Basic commands are diligently practiced, and he knows some already (one can see that he was not trained before). There are no cats in the foster home, but they often visit the property, and Fibs shows no interest in them. He enjoys being brushed and loves to relax on the couch just as much as he loves treats. Fibs will be rehomed to responsible people after several meetings and mutual get-togethers.

About Ein Handicap mit Herz &#8211

What life with Ein Handicap mit Herz &#8211 looks like

Ein Handicap mit Herz &#8211 is a small young adult golden retriever dog waiting at Tierhilfe Rhein-Hunsrück e.V. in Germany.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ein Handicap mit Herz &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ein Handicap mit Herz &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Rhein-Hunsrück e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ein Handicap mit Herz &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ein Handicap mit Herz &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Rhein-Hunsrück e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ein Handicap mit Herz &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ein Handicap mit Herz &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Rhein-Hunsrück e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ein Handicap mit Herz &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
