Kofi

Labrador Retriever · Male · Adult · 4 years

Kofi is a lovely 4 year old, yellow, neutered Labrador x Golden Retriever. He is coming to us due to his owner’s deteriorating health. Kofi lives with another older dog and they get on really well together. He is very well exercised and loves nothing more than to play hide and seek with a ball. He has no experience with children so only adult homes or older teenagers would be suitable. He is a good traveller and enjoys trips out with his current owners. He is quite good on his lead but his owners sometimes use a Gencon to help stop him pulling occasionally. He does not like cats and is anxious when scooters or bikes are close by. Kofi needs a rural / semi rural home with someone at home most of the time. No full timer workers as his family are there most of the time. Please email us initially with details of your location, type of home and your experience. We will only consider homes in areas we cover which are on the website. Due to the amount of emails we receive you will only be contacted if you are shortlisted If you think Kofi could be the boy for you and you can provide the perfect home he’s looking for, please contact Joan Falvey () via email with ‘Kofi’ in the subject box.

About Kofi

What life with Kofi looks like

Kofi is a adult labrador retriever dog waiting at Labrador Lifeline Trust in Tadley.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kofi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kofi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Labrador Lifeline Trust handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kofi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kofi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Labrador Lifeline Trust will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kofi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kofi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Labrador Lifeline Trust early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kofi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
