EKH Schneeflocke

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Snowflake is a found cat from a more distant region. A cat-loving friend found her and, after being rejected by the local authorities, contacted a friendly animal welfare association. They passed her on to us for rehoming. It quickly became clear that she’s not a truly wild cat and with patience and plenty of calm, she will likely become a shy but otherwise normal little kitten. She loves her box, so she’s staying in your small living area until the move to the cat placement room is ready. An ideal placement would be with patient cat lovers who can give her the time to settle in and build trust. In the meantime, this fragile being finds shelter with us, and we hope she doesn’t have to wait too long for her chance. She has no problem being rehomed with fellow animals. Frigang should only be allowed after the necessary trust has been built, as she would surely enjoy it and would not approach strangers. She is also suitable for apartment living, as the sensitive mouse appreciates orderly paths when she feels secure. Anyone who wants to secure a Snowflake, whether we really see snow, does so every year. With her in the house, a winter fairy tale will quickly become reality….

About EKH Schneeflocke

What life with EKH Schneeflocke looks like

EKH Schneeflocke is a small adult mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Schkortitz in Grimma.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting EKH Schneeflocke, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about EKH Schneeflocke?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw EKH Schneeflocke on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt EKH Schneeflocke if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is EKH Schneeflocke already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if EKH Schneeflocke isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know EKH Schneeflocke and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
