Elisabeth

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 10 years

For almost as long as Paul, Elisabeth has been waiting for her forever home in the cat room. When Paula arrived at the shelter as a kitten, Elisabeth was already an adult cat, and although I don't know her exact age, the vets said she was no more than two years old then. A rough calculation gives her age today as about eight years. Elisabeth was first seen in Lääne-Viru, next to a bench, where the family thought the cat had been thrown from a car. Soon after, kittens were born, which she hid high up on the shelf. Unfortunately, one of the kittens fell down and died. The mother with her two kittens was quickly taken into foster care, where she safely raised her kittens. Both little fur balls found nice homes. The mother Elisabeth moved into a large cat house, waiting for her home, but unfortunately, time has passed and that home hasn't come yet. Elisabeth is actually a very beautiful tabby, gray and white, and such tabbies usually don't stay waiting for a home for so long. How come then that the cat room has been waiting for the mother cat for almost four years? Has no suitable family noticed her, or is there still a problem with Elisabeth's personality? Elisabeth is not a shy cat, yes, you can make her sit, but sitting in a corner doesn't suit her. She is rather a talkative tabby, who sits opposite or next to you and wants to interact. She has her own opinion and expresses it loudly. Elisabeth has shown over the years great kindness towards other cats. She doesn't get angry or fight, rather the opposite - she really likes to share a nest with someone or take care of someone else's coat. Elisabeth needs her forever home, her person, and who knows what surprises Elisabeth still has in store. Maybe one sunny day she will become a lap cat. Please contact me if you would like to offer Elisabeth a home or if you have any additional questions about the cat. Also, we would be very grateful if you could share this post as widely as possible, as it helps people find Elisabeth faster. As always, please first send an email to the email address .

Tekkis huvi? Täida ankeet ja paku kodu!

About Elisabeth

What life with Elisabeth looks like

Elisabeth is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Gabrieli Loomade Elu MTÜ in Estonia.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇪Adopting from Estonia

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Elisabeth, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Elisabeth?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Gabrieli Loomade Elu MTÜ handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Elisabeth on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Elisabeth if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Gabrieli Loomade Elu MTÜ will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Elisabeth already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Elisabeth isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Gabrieli Loomade Elu MTÜ early rather than rehoming privately; they know Elisabeth and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ET). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
