Adopt Eneco Galgo

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

(Can have video) UPDATE April 2026: We got to know Eneco with the typical Rass characteristics that are often attributed to Galgos. Initially reserved, but very curious, first strolling past us, looking from behind to see who had entered the kennel. Once contact is made, which only takes a few minutes, Eneco shows himself friendly and enthusiastically greets on the second visit. Eneco is an appearance, large and immediately eye-catching. A straightforward male dog who would like to have a social partner in his new home. We see him more in a rural setting and not with too much hustle and bustle, as Eneco does not like excessive fuss and this makes him insecure and also becomes hectic. With people who support Eneco during the adjustment period, he will certainly become a great male dog who will bring a lot of joy. Eneco comes from the same notorious place in Madrid where previously Galga Hera was taken in. By chance, a PROA employee saw the hunter with the female dog in the park and managed to convince him to give up both Hera and Eneco. The initial statement that both dogs could be taken over was later revised by the hunter, who only released Hera. But now, only a few weeks later, Eneco was also allowed to go to PROA. According to the former owner, Eneco is the brother of Hera, whether this is true we do not know. In the end, it also does not matter. Eneco is curious, open-minded and active for his age, but according to the Spaniards is not overexcited. A friendly young and tall male dog who wants to discover the world. We hope he gets the opportunity soon in his own family. Born: 2024, size approx. 75 cm, weight approx. 25.5 kg, character: friendly, curious, active, compatible with other animals, at the PROA animal shelter since November 2025. Eneco travels microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, tested for all Mediterranean diseases, a blood test of the organ values is also created before travel arrangements. Eneco will be rehomed with a safety harness, a GPS is mandatory. About Eneco Galgo

What life with Eneco Galgo looks like

Eneco Galgo is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at TS Fellwechsel e.V. in Varel /nur Vereinssitz, kein Tierheim vor Ort.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Eneco Galgo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Eneco Galgo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. TS Fellwechsel e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Eneco Galgo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Eneco Galgo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — TS Fellwechsel e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Eneco Galgo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Eneco Galgo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with TS Fellwechsel e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Eneco Galgo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
