Eric

Labradoodle · Male · Young · 1 year

Support and Health How much training will I need? Needs ongoing support Can I be left alone? Yes Eric used to be left for up to 3 hours in his previous home. He would however only settle down once tired, which was normally after having a walk and being left with some fun enrichment games to occupy his brain. Eric has the potential to have this built up again gradually once he is settled, providing he has what’s needed prior. Do I have any medical conditions? None Eric has a clean bill of health and can be fully insured after rehoming. Who I can live with Can I live with dogs? No Can I live with cats? No Can I live with small pets? No Additional information Eric would enjoy having some appropriate doggy walking buddies in his next home, which won’t mind his bouncy energy at times. Family and environment What kind of family am I looking for? Due to some of Eric’s behaviours and that he is a large and excitable boy at times, Eric will need to live with older, confident children aged 13 plus. It is important for all children to know and respect Eric’s boundaries, giving him space when needed. What type of environment would suit me? Eric loves being in the garden and liked to sit at the picnic table in his last home! He is looking for a secure private garden in his next home, with 5ft fencing. About Eric Eric is a handsome, energetic and incredibly intelligent young boy who is looking for an active family ready to keep his clever mind and busy paws entertained! He absolutely loves getting out and about, and swimming is his favourite thing to do! Whether it’s a splash in a lake or a dip in the sea, Eric is happiest when he’s enjoying the great outdoors. This smart boy would also thrive with a family who enjoys training and would love to teach him new skills. Eric has plenty of potential and would relish the chance to learn. His new family will need to be committed to ongoing training and provide him with plenty of consistency, structure and opportunities to learn. Eric does have some resource guarding tendencies, which will need to be carefully managed. His new family should be prepared to continue working on this behaviour with our guidance. With the right home, Eric has so much to offer. This bright, active boy could make a fantastic companion for a family ready to embrace his energy, intelligence and love of learning!

About Eric

What life with Eric looks like

Eric is a large young adult labradoodle dog waiting at Woodgreen Pets Charity in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Eric, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Eric?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Woodgreen Pets Charity handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Eric on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Eric if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Woodgreen Pets Charity will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Eric already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Eric isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Woodgreen Pets Charity early rather than rehoming privately; they know Eric and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
