Pandora has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. When she arrived, she was a scared little girl who was worried to find herself here but was trying incredibly hard to be brave. Since then, she has really come out of her shell and is blossoming into the sweetest little girl. She recently moved to a wonderful foster home where she is getting to experience home life for the very first time and is settling in so well and now absolutely loves having a fuss and attention. She gets on very well with the other dogs in foster, but especially loves the humans! She sleeps soundly all night with the other dogs and is happy to be left for a few hours. Pandora will be looking for a calm and quiet home and would benefit from adopters who have experience of ex-breeding dogs and understand that she will need love and TLC as she settles into her new home. She loves other dogs and would love to have another kind and confident resident dog in her new home to be her friend, but in the right circumstances and with adopters who are around most of the time, we would consider homing her as an only dog. She can live with older, dog-savvy teens aged 16+ who are sensible and will allow her time to settle in at her own pace. She had never lived in a home before moving to foster, so everything is still fairly new to her and she will need kindness and patience as she continues learning about home life and new skills like house training. She can now walk well on a lead and harness and enjoys her walks and adventures so would benefit from an active home. She has even visited a secure field, which she loved! She will need a secure garden with 6ft fences. Our vets have noted that she has a Grade 1 heart murmur, which doesn't require any medication but will need to be monitored by her adopters and their vet going forward. She also came to us with a fluid-filled swelling on the side of her face, which our vets diagnosed as a salivary mucocele. This occurs when a salivary gland becomes damaged, allowing saliva to leak into the surrounding tissue, where it collects and forms a soft, usually painless, pocket of fluid. Our vets have drained this, however it has started to gradually refill again and may need to be drained again in the near future. The only permanent treatment is surgery to remove the affected salivary gland, which would need to be carried out by a specialist. Pandora's adopters would need to be aware that any vet treatment surrounding this would not be coverable by insurance as it's pre-existing. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
