Estel

Mixed Breed · Male · Baby

Estel is a beautiful young male Syrian hamster, born in late July 2026, who is looking for a very special forever home. This little boy is incredibly timid and currently spends much of his time tucked away in his burrows and hiding places. When he does venture out and spots a human, he’s been known to freeze like a little statue! Estel needs a quiet, calm home without children, with an experienced or understanding owner who is happy to give him plenty of time, patience and space to settle in. We hope that, as he grows in confidence and learns to feel safe, his curious side will begin to emerge. However, there’s also a possibility that Estel may always be a bit of a ghost hamster, preferring to enjoy his surroundings when nobody is watching. His future family will need to be comfortable with this and appreciate him for the little character he is, without expecting him to become tame or enjoy handling. Due to his extreme timidity, we have decided not to put Estel through a routine veterinary health check unless there are specific concerns about his health. As Estel is still so young, we’d love to find him a suitable forever home where he can settle in, establish his routine and begin building confidence at his own pace. Could you offer this shy little boy the peaceful, understanding home he deserves? 💙

Frequently asked

Adopting Estel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Estel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Bristol Rabbit Rescue & Friends handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Estel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Estel if I live in another country?
Sometimes. Whether a animal can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Bristol Rabbit Rescue & Friends what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Estel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
What a animal comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Bristol Rabbit Rescue & Friends directly what is included and what Estel still needs.
What happens if Estel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Bristol Rabbit Rescue & Friends early rather than rehoming privately; they know Estel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
