Expecto Patronum &#8211

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten

Rubius was born around March 1, 2026. He has received two vaccinations and, due to his age, has not yet been neutered. He lives with his brother Lucius, and the two should move together into a new home. Rubius is accustomed to living alongside cats and dogs. He shows interest in people but still needs time to build trust. He tends to express his uncertainty more through hissing than by withdrawing—but he’s not seeking confrontation; rather, he’s simply signaling that a particular situation makes him uncomfortable. At present, he doesn’t yet allow himself to be touched. As the braver of the two brothers, Rubius explores his surroundings attentively and, together with Lucius, is constantly on the lookout for new ways to keep busy. Both are playful, eager to learn, and full of energy. Balls and marble runs are particularly popular with them, but in principle they can be excited about almost any kind of game. Even during training with the transport box, good progress has already been made thanks to the use of chew sticks. After an adequate adjustment period, a home with the possibility of later outdoor access would be a great fit for Rubius.

DE·Show original

About Expecto Patronum &#8211

What life with Expecto Patronum &#8211 looks like

Expecto Patronum &#8211 is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Katzenrettung Gangelt e.V. in Gangelt.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Expecto Patronum &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Expecto Patronum &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Katzenrettung Gangelt e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Expecto Patronum &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Expecto Patronum &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Katzenrettung Gangelt e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Expecto Patronum &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Expecto Patronum &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Katzenrettung Gangelt e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Expecto Patronum &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
