Ollie

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy

Mixed-breed Ollie is waiting for his big chance at happiness. Ollie didn't have an easy start in life. Together with his seven siblings and their mom, he was left behind on the street. Fortunately, our Bulgarian animal welfare activists were able to rescue this little family. Now, Ollie longs for nothing more than his own family—or a loving foster home. Ollie is a gentle, sweet puppy with a rather calm nature. At first, he approaches new situations with a bit of caution, observing carefully before gradually building trust. He’s social and friendly toward other dogs, and he also loves meeting people. His future humans should understand that everything will be new for Ollie. He needs time to adjust at his own pace and learn step by step what it means to live as part of a family—whether it’s house training, riding in the car, being left alone, or all the small and big adventures of everyday life. Ollie is looking for people who will lovingly accompany him, provide him with security, and explore the world together with him. With the right support, this little guy will surely become a loyal friend who’ll stay by his family’s side for a lifetime. A puppy doesn’t just bring joy—it also requires time, patience, loving guidance, and understanding to grow into a faithful companion. Who’d like to show Ollie what a real home feels like? Adopting a shelter dog always means taking on a special responsibility and can also be quite challenging. These dogs come with a backpack of past experiences or unlearned situations and need time to adjust to their new lives. If you’re seriously interested in adopting Ollie, please get in touch with the responsible adoption coordinator from SALVA Hundehilfe. We’d also be delighted to receive offers of foster care. Mischling Ollie wartet auf sein großes Glück. Ollie hatte keinen einfachen Start ins Leben.

About Ollie

What life with Ollie looks like

Ollie is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ollie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ollie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ollie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ollie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ollie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ollie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ollie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
